Juan Giraldo is an artist driven by a deep connection to color, texture, and the natural world.
Through painting, poetry, and music, he crafts stories that reflect his authenticity
and passion for bridging the gap between humanity and the planet. A graduate of Visual Arts at Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia, Juan’s work challenges societal structures while celebrating the mysticism of nature.
Since 2015, his project Los Malhechos has brought to life mystical landscapes and creatures inspired by personal experiences, Indigenous narratives, and his imagination. Using acrylics and unconventional materials on canvas and murals, Juan’s art is both a poetic expression and a call to action—reminding us of the urgent need to live in harmony with the Earth.

Discover my Studio
I am a lover of life who dreams in colors and finds inspiration in the natural world.
Any natural space becomes my studio. I love painting in the semi paramo mountains of La Calera, Colombia, which I call home during certain times of the year. I also have a studio in the city of Bogotá and spend short seasons in places that embrace me, such as the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta or the Amazon rainforest. Additionally, I paint in Nederland, CO, and Durham, NC.
I am a wandering artist, unbound by a single place, city, or country. My art knows no borders or languages

MY ART
Behind My Work
My art is inspired by a myth I created, a story about the creation of the universe and the mythical, surreal beings that appear in my paintings. My work is about returning to our origins, connecting art with magic, spirituality, and mystery.
In my series “Los Malhechos”, I bring these supernatural beings to life to explore how the universe began, using the power of the elements, art, and universal love.
Through my paintings, I hope to share a sense of connection and wonder that unites us all while celebrating the marvels our world has to offer and appreciating the incredible journey of being alive.
